How our onboarding fee works
When you move to SelectCommerce, we charge an initial fee of ÂŁ3,999 to cover the cost of migrating to our platform.
We know that moving to a new eCommerce platform isn’t a decision anyone takes lightly, and this cost helps us ensure that your new site is set up for you, minus any improvements you’ve asked us to make, of course.
The fee covers:
- interpreting and migrating your data in the right format, including product descriptions and images, page copy and prices.
- Setting you up on our optimised standard theme and showing you how you can customise it.
- Setting up your users (administrators) in the Content Management System (CMS).
- Set up of your new online payment account with Nice Payments (via WorldPay)
- Use of a content distribution network (CDN) so that your site is responsive on all devices and across mobile.
- Migration of your DNS (web address) to your site.
- 1-2-1 training to get you familiar with our intuitive CMS.
If needed, we can also quote for any bespoke additions or changes, however the standard charge covers a full migration, leaving you set up and ready to trade.
All eCommerce migrations will come with a cost, no matter the platform
If you’re looking to move away from your existing eCommerce platform then there will always be some charge involved with moving to another provider, as it’s recommended to hire a migration expert. Their charges are usually much higher than ours, and it’s not unusual for a large website to incur fees of over £10,000.
We believe in being upfront about the cost of migrating, which is why we make it part of our service to you. Because we built SelectCommerce ourselves, we’re experts in onboarding new clients to it. You’ll get great service, and training from an experienced professional.
